Ugyen Lhendup

Ugyen Lhendup hails from Trong, Zhemgang. He has a Masters of Public Policy (specialized in Development Policy) and Post Graduate Diploma in Public Administration from the Crawford School of Public Policy, Australian National University, Canberra, Australia. After qualifying in the Civil Service Common Examination (CSCE), in 2008, he completed his Post Graduate Diploma in Public Administration (PGDPA) from Royal Institute of Management (RIM).

He graduated in 2007 with a Bachelors in Business Administration (BBA) from George College of Management and Science under West Bengal University of Technology, India with specialization in Marketing.

Before he joined RIM, he served in Loden Foundation (NGO) as a co-ordinator and he has also worked as a researcher in Tashi Commercial Corporation (TCC) where he carried out the first market survey on launching a new brand of beer (lager beer and 11,000) in the six Dzongkhags of Bhutan.

He initiated Zhenphen Community Scouting at RIM.  He had served as a Group Leader for Community Scouting of Bhutan (CSB) at RIM and s volunteered for Bhutan Nuns Foundation (NGO), and Jangsa Animal Saving Trust. He has also been  an adviser for the Youth Happy Valley and Entertainment.

Academically, he loves to write and has contributed articles for RIM News Letters. His experiences in research, teaching, volunteering and coordination of community services has helped him to develop multi-skills, knowledge and ability in strategic planning, organizing, and imporiving decision making and management skills.  Lhendup’s immense interest in volunteering for social service and analytical interests in learning about other cultures have also left him confident in handling trainees in educating and encouraging them to learn from such diverse behaviors. He always believes in doing any good activities and making others happy. Being in management institute he always has one thought; “to inspire and motivate the trainees to learn.”

At present he teaches Management Communication to Diploma Trainees and assists Professors and Sr. Lecturer in research, meetings, procurement and administrative functions.
