Digital Literacy program is the Government sponsored course for Bhutanese citizens with basic skills in reading and writing in English and Dzongkha.

Working lunch and refreshment will be served for the entire training period.

Details of the training course are as listed below :

Participants

Th​e participants will be from diverse societies (monk, business entities, youth, drivers and semi illiterate, non-IT civil servants, armed forces and non-IT professionals). 

Course Delivery

Training will be delivered in batches and each batch is expected to accommodate 25 participants.

Training will be conducted in a computer lab with Internet access so that the participants can get hands-on experience with the online services, G-Suites, etc.

Course Objectives

To ensure that all the citizens have basic ICT literacy and enhance ICT adoption through increased use of G2C, online banking and other online services 

Learning Outcomes

  • Understand key concepts and carry out key activities relating to hardware and software
  • Manage files and folders, store data, and manage applications
  • Understand potential threats and ways to protect computers, devices, and data.
  • Know how to register, set up, and delete user accounts for G2C, online banking and other online services
  • Understand how collaboration works on mobile devices using G-Suites
  • Understand the safe use of social media and leverage on it for digital marketing

Teaching and Learning Approach (Pedagogy)

Pedagogy

Experiential learning is the process of learning through experience, or defined as “learning through reflection on doing”. Participants will apply concepts and techniques learnt from the module presentation and discussion to gain first-hand experience.

Mode of Delivery

Active lectures blend 10-15 minute presentations with interactive experiences such as asking questions, small group discussions and accessing the G2C services, banking applications, etc. for hands-on experience.

Assessment 

At the end of each module the participants will be asked to do an online quiz to gauge their understanding and also get an hands on experience accessing and using the online quiz.

  • Microsoft essentials (Word, ppt, excel)

2. e-Governance and G2C services 

  • Registering for SSO
  • Digital identity
  • Access to G2C services and mobile apps
  • G2C service payment 

The module should focus on all the critical aspects of the G2C system and Mobile apps. It should focus on understanding the key services, process workflow, the requirements, filing applications, creating user credentials etc.

3. Online Security & Privacy

  • Basic online security aspect starting from using appropriate web browser settings, authenticate websites, browsing the web securely, safe internet habits. 
  • Social engineering and phishing

The session should target to spread awareness amongst the public on threats residing on the Internet and the good habits netizens can adopt to be safe online. 

4. Digital Payment 

The financial sector has experienced tremendous transformation in recent years,  propelled by development in technology and this trend is expected to pick pace in coming years. This module should focus on safe usage of financial system and services covering all aspect such as

  2. Mobile apps (MBoB, TPAY, MPAY)
  3. eTeru 
  4. BNgul
5. Google Workspace

This module should focus on working with google workspace and collaborative suites such as 

  • Slide
  • Doc
  • Form 
  • Sheet 
  • Calendar 
  • Google Meet
6. Social Media 

  • Social Media and its impacts on individuals, families and societies
  • Identifying fake news
  • Being responsible social media users
  • Secure use of social media app (Wechat, whatsapp, facebook, telegram)
  • Social Media for digital marketing
