Department of Information and Communication Technology (DICT), Royal Institute of Management is pleased to announce the various Cisco Networking Academy courses for the academic year 2019.

The CCNA Routing and Switching curriculum is a gateway to entry-level networking jobs and IT careers. The curriculum consists of 4, 70-hour courses: Introduction to Networks, Routing and Switching Essentials, Scaling Networks, and Connecting Networks. The first 2 courses prepare you for the Cisco CCENT certification exam or to study CCNA Security. All 4 courses are recommended before taking the Cisco CCNA Routing and Switching certification exam. Some of the advantages of the courses are highlighted below:

The above courses will be delivered in following 2 Modes of teaching/learning and fee structure:

Blended Distance Mode: The candidates will need to register for the course with RIM by paying Nu. 1000 per course*. The DICT will coordinate and monitor participants to complete course within the specified time line. Candidates will require completing the entire 4 module course within 4 months. The first phase training course will commenced from 1st March 2019 and end by 31st June 2019. Second phase will start from 1st August 2019 and end by 30th November 2019.

Instructor–led Mode: Full time intensive instructor led course for the entire CCNA courses. The duration of the course is 2 months and nominal course fee for entire CCNA course is Nu. 8000/ or Nu. 2000/ per module*. The summer term course starts by 1st March 2019 provided the number of candidates is above 5 per batch. The participants will experience real time hands-on practical session using the real router and switches.

*Course fee does not cover CCNA Certification Fees.

CCNA Security

Build and secure networks. Prepare for CCNA Security certification

The duration of the course is 14 days and nominal course fee for entire course is Nu.1000/ per candidate*. The summer term course starts by 1st May 2019, provided the number of candidates is above 5 per batch. The participants will experience real time hands on practical session using the real router and switches.

*Course fee does not cover CCNA Security Certification Fees.

Cybersecurity Essentials

Learn the basics needed to fight cybercrime.

A single breach can have huge consequences for a company’s ability to function, hurting the bottom line and causing disruption in the daily lives of millions of people. This is why the demand for security professionals continues to grow. Get onboard—and develop an understanding of cybercrime, security principles, technologies, and procedures used to defend networks. Then decide whether you want to pursue an entry-level networking or security role professionally. Recommended for students planning to study for the Cisco CCNA R&SCCNA Cyber Ops or Cisco CCNA Security Certifications. Prerequisite Introduction to Cybersecurity or equivalent knowledge recommended.

IoT Fundamentals: Connecting Things

From washing machines to jet engines

Nearly every object can now be connected to the Internet. From washing machines to sophisticated components of an airplane’s jet engine, even organic items like crops and cows. The ability to connect things and capture useful data is transforming organizations in every industry and opening doors for new career specializations. Discover the basis of this exciting and emerging field using fun, hands-on activities to model securely connecting sensors to cloud services over IP networks and collecting data in an end-to-end IoT (Internet of Things) system. Basic programming (such as PCAP: Programming Essentials in Python), networking and electronics knowledge is recommended.

NDG Linux Essentials

Build upon your Linux knowledge and get closer to job ready skills.

As one of the most successful open source collaborations, Linux has evolved into the most reliable operating system on the planet. It’s used for embedded systems to virtually all supercomputers for a good reason.  Nearly every IT job requires some Linux knowledge. NDG Linux Essentials quickly builds your Linux knowledge and prepares you for the LPI Linux Essentials Professional Development Certificate (PDC), your proof to employers that you know Linux! Many concepts in this course are covered at a more demanding pace in NDG Linux I.  No prerequisites required for this course.

The course will be delivered in following 2 Modes of teaching/learning:
