Jit Tshering

Jit Tshering joined the Royal Institute of Management as a trainee officer in 1987 after graduating with Bachelors degree in Economics. He has been teaching/training in the institute since 1987. He holds  a Masters of Philosophy in Economic Planning from University of Glasgow, UK.

He teaches Politics and Democracy, Managing Development Projects and Development Theory and Practice at Post Graduate diploma level.

He has undertaken consultancy for the UNDP, UNCDF, the Global Environment Facility (GEF), Ministry of Home Affairs, Planning Commission, the Royal Society for the Protection of Nature, Royal Civil Service Commission and Ministry of Labour and Human Resources. The areas of consultancy included Training, Community Organizations, Decentralization, People’s participation, and block-based planning (Geog-based Planning) for the 9th Five Year Plan of the country, Mid-Term Review and Evaluation.

His papers on “Leadership of Jangchup sempas” and  “Of People, Politics and Policies” published by the institute and has co-authored another paper on “Decentralization and Participation at the Geog (Block) and Community Levels” in support of the country’s Decentralization Review. He is a senior lecturer in the Department of Management Development.
