Karma Tobgyel is from Chang Gedaphu, Thimphu. Graduated in 1995 with B.Com (Honours). He holds Post Graduate Certificate in Financial Management (1997) from Royal Institute of Management and Degree in Masters of Professional Accounting (2003-2005) from Edith Cowan University, Perth, Western Australia.

He joined Royal Institute of Management in Jan, 2000.

He was working as the Head of the Administration and Finance Division in the Planning Commission Secretariat before he was transferred to RIM as Lecturer.

He lectures on Government Finance and Accounting, Commercial and Computerized Accounting at all the levels. Also designs and offers demand driven short courses on Finance and Accounting, and he is Co-author of the Accounting book on “Computerised Accounting in Bhutan.

Currently he is one of the faculty members of Center for Financial Management.
