Sonam Choiden is from Ngatshang, Mongar. Currently she works under the Department of Finance and Business. She lectures courses related to Economics, Statistics and Quantitative techniques. Her area of specialization is Environmental Economics with particular interest in research related to Development Economics, Health Economics, Population Economics and Gender.
Sonam joined RIM in May 2008. Prior to that, she was a lecturer at Sherubtse College. She taught Applied Statistics and Micro/Macro-Economics and was involved in curriculum development especially on Environmental Economics for honors level (fourth yr.) |
She holds a B.A Economics (Honours) from Sherubtse College, Delhi University(1995); PGCE in Economics and Maths, from Samtse College of Education, Bhutan(1997); PG Diploma in Economics (Honours) from University of Waikato, New Zealand(2003); and MMS in Economics (Honours) from University of Waikato, New Zealand(2004).
Sonam is also trained on:- Education for International Understanding/ Education for Sustainable Development through APCEIU & UNESCO (2005); and Intellectual Property Rights for LDCs through SIDA, WIPO, and SPRO, Sweden (2006& 2007)
