DIPLOMA IN INFORMATION MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (DIMS)

COURSE OUTLINE

Objective :
  • Develop proficiency to design solutions, implement, deploy, install and configure networks
  • Exploration of the technical and interactive human aspects of computing and computing applications
  • To acquaint in office technologies and Internet applications
  • Develop proficiency in authoring both standard and web based applications
Duration:
24 months
Designed for:

pre-service candidates (plus 2) from higher secondary schools with competence at the following levels: Pure Mathematics and English.

Learning Areas:
In addition to three-months of individual system development (Client Project) DIMS provide the following learning areas/modules that are divided into four semesters (a semester consists of three months):
  • Basic Computing
  • Effective Communication
  • Basic Theory & Concepts on management
  • Project Management
  • Programming Fundamentals (Pascal)
  • Programming Concepts
  • Database Programming
  • System Analysis & Design
  • Web Design & Development
  • How to develope and setup eSecure Services
  • Visual basic & SQL
  • Programming Language (C++)
  • Data communication
  • Network Administration
  • Client Project (3 months)

Cisco Networking

  • CCNA –1 (Networking basic)
  • CCNA –2 (Routers & Routing Basic)
  • CCNA –3 (Switch Networking)
  • CCNA –4 (WAN Technology)
Learning Outcome:
Upon the successful completion of the course, the trainees will be able to:
  • design effective application or program for a given problem
  • list, describe and illustrate the steps in development life cycle (design)
  • will have good foundation in networking (designing/implementing/configuring etc)
  • will have hands-on experience with interactivity tools and designing methods technology
  • will have good knowledge on hardware maintenance and trouble shooting
  • set-up Servers and configure the services like DHCP, DNS, SMTP, POP & Print Server.
