About Phurba

Phurba is a Senior Lecturer at the Royal Institute of Management (RIM) in Bhutan, holding Diplomas in Information Technology from the Canberra Institute of Technology and Information Management Systems from RIM. With extensive experience in teaching IT courses, he specializes in designing ICT curricula, academic administration, and ICT project development. Phurba has taught various subjects, including MS Applications, Database Design, Programming (C, C++), Web Development, and Client-Server Technology.
He has received notable awards such as the National Order of Merit for Academic Excellence and the Best Faculty Award. Phurba has significantly contributed to Bhutan’s ICT development, including his involvement in the Chiphen Rigpel Project for e-Governance and as a Technical Member for an ethics and integrity program. He has also designed software like the Payroll Management System and Course Registration System.
With over 25 years of experience, Phurba has held various roles, including Instructor, Course Coordinator, and resource person for IT Management Development Programs. His research interests focus on the use of IT in schools and e-Governance.
