About Namgay

Namgay is an experienced educator, researcher, and leader specializing in education reform, governance, and social accountability. He holds a Master of Education (Science Education) from the University of New England, Australia (2005-2006), as well as Post Graduate Certificates in Corruption Studies from the University of Hong Kong (2014-2015) and Higher Education from the University of New England (2010). He is also a Certified Leadership Trainer and Certified Educational Assessment Trainer by MDC, Canada.
With over 20 years of experience in Bhutan’s education sector, Namgay has held various leadership and academic roles. He is currently serving as Assistant Professor and Registrar at Royal Institute of Management. Prior to this, he was the Head of Department at Management Development (2021-2024), where he taught and conducted research on governance, ethics, research methods, project management, and public administration.
From 2014 to 2021, Namgay served as Chief Research Officer at the Anti-Corruption Commission, leading key research projects focused on governance, public policy, and systemic reforms. He also held the position of Chief Research Officer at the Royal Education Council (2010-2014), where he played a pivotal role in national teacher education reforms and large-scale educational projects. Additionally, he has held significant academic leadership positions, including Program Leader and Project Manager for various educational initiatives in Bhutan.
Namgay has authored and co-authored numerous research publications on topics such as anti-corruption, education reform, and governance. He has also contributed to national assessments on integrity and accountability. In addition, Namgay has actively participated in international conferences, contributing as a rapporteur and speaker at seminars on anti-corruption, inclusive education, and teacher education.
