In accordance with the Royal Charter of the Royal Institute of Management 1990, which specifies the institute’s responsibility to impart, promote, and enhance professional knowledge and skills in management and public administration for both public and private sectors, as well as the resolutions passed by the 80th National Assembly mandating RIM to provide capacity building to the Local Government, RIM, in collaboration with the Department of Local Governance & Disaster Management, is delivering a comprehensive three-week professional development program for the newly elected Gups of the Central and Western Region.
This program is being held at the RAA’s Professional Development Center in Tsirang and will primarily focus on developing foundational and core competencies for the Gups. The objective is to facilitate the holistic development of participants, encompassing intellectual knowledge, practical skills, and essential values. The program intends to strengthen citizens’ active engagement in the development process, encourage informed decision-making, promote good governance principles such as transparency, accountability, and corruption reduction, and enhance service delivery.
We are honored to announce that the opening session of the training, welcoming the 2nd Cohort of 80 Gups, was graced by the Honorable Minister for the Ministry of Home Affairs, Dasho Dzongdag, along with officials from Tsirang Dzongkhag, the Department of Local Governance and Disaster Management, as well as RIM. Honorable Minister highlighted the importance of the capacity development and urged the participants to make the best use of training programme.
This training program is scheduled to take place from the 29th of April to the 22nd of May, 2024.
We look forward to this enriching opportunity and the positive impact it will have on the Gups and their valuable contributions to strengthening good governance and enhancing service delivery.
