RIM conducts two level of courses on National law, Post Graduate Diploma and Diploma level.
Post Graduate Diploma is I year course, and all the Government Scholarship are for the RCSC selected graduates, RIM also accept private candidates if they meet the criteria set by RIM and Royal Court of Justices.

POST GRADUATE DILOMA IN NATIONAL LAW (PGDNL)

COURSE OUTLINE

Objective :           The PGDNL aims to assist Dzongkhag Courts, High Court,  Organizations and lawyers to succeed and:

develop the range of knowledge and skills required of Drangpons and lawyers

develop the ability to negotiate and settle disputes among people and civil problems

develop a clear understanding of the emerging role and responsibilities of Drangpons

 Designed for: Candidates who have been selected to pursue career in the areas of National Law selected through the CSCE selection process of the PGDNL.

DIPLOMA IN NATIONAL LAW (DNL)

COURSE OUTLINE

Course Objectives:

 The DNL aims to build the capacity of the High Court, Dzongkhag Courts, Dungkhag Courts and public agencies through training of competent people in National Law.

The course aims specifically at:

Developing the range of knowledge and skills required of Legal Assistant;

Developing a clear understanding of the emerging roles and responsibilities of Legal Assistant;

Familiarizing with the National Law and developing a common understanding and interpretation of the Laws and Acts of the Kingdom;

Have acquired skills in a range of areas that are essential for working effectively in the civil service;

Have acquired contextual knowledge relevant to public service work in such fields as Laws of Bhutan            and clerical work;

Have positive values which support and promote the objectives of national development; and be oriented to lifelong learning in the pursuit of personal and organizational goals.

 Duration:   24 months (From August – June every year) with 12 months academic training and 12 months On Job Training.

 Designed for: Selected candidate with Class XII pass.
